SCHMANKERL-RECORDS, one of the best-sorted Melodic and Hard Rock mailorders worldwide, has been established in 1995 by Dieter Lanzl & Gerhard Maurus, two music-lovers and collectors.
SCHMANKERL-RECORDS was the result of the combination of their two mailorder services ("Gerdi & Macke's CD Service" & "Rock-Schmankerl-Records"), having one motto: making hobby to profession!
So on September, 30th 1995, SCHMANKERL-RECORDS opened up their first store in Penzberg, where they were located until April, 2011.
In 1998, a third man came onboard: Markus Maurus (another "music-maniac"). He expanded SCHMANKERL-RECORDS with a second store in Geretsried.
Due to emerging mailorder via the online-shop, both stores consolidated in the middle of 2002 to one bigger store in Penzberg.
In May 2011, they relocated to Bad Toelz.
In 2015, we gave up our retail store, being available online and by mailorder only.
